Your Questions Answered About Backing Tracks, Licensing & Production
Welcome to our FAQ page — answers to the questions we’re most often asked about our backing track production services, pricing, editing, licensing, delivery, and more.

If you plan to use a backing track in a live venue, UK law requires the venue to purchase a PRS performance license to cover the public performance of the music. If you plan to distribute or release music commercially, you must secure the appropriate rights and licenses yourself. We can help in most instances with this.
Having clear licensing information upfront helps you stay compliant and avoid unexpected legal issues when performing or distributing music.

However, if a song’s stems are unavailable, we may need to record parts from scratch using session musicians, which typically costs around £300 per track due to the additional production work involved.
